I’ve heard this line from shop owners more times than I can count:
“It’s a lot of change, disruption, learning curves for my team and uncertainty for me. My production is finally running smoothly and I don’t want to take a step backwards.”
And they’re not wrong to feel that way, when something works, the last thing you want to do is break it.
My sales team often asks me: How do we convince someone to take that next step? And I always tell them: Don’t try to convince them. Tell them to talk to our customers.
Because here’s what usually happens: The hesitation disappears the moment reality hits. The phone rings:
“I just lost two machine operators. Help! How fast can you get me one of your cobots?”
And three months later, I hear:
“I never realized the other cost savings that came with automation. It’s not about one specific number. It’s about consistency, predictability, and peace of mind.”
The cobot shows up. It works. All night. No scheduling. No overtime. Suddenly, recruiting is less urgent. Your good operators are doing more meaningful work. Scrap is down. Stress is lower.
I could give you a long list of benefits - less injuries, no wage inflation pressure, more spindle time, flexibility in winning new jobs.
But when I ask our customers what they value most, the answer isn’t data. It’s relief.
“It’s just one less worry in running the shop.”
To be fully transparent: these aren’t direct quotes from one customer. They’re pieces of hundreds of conversations I’ve had over the years with shop owners like you.
So if you’re sitting on the fence, ask yourself: What would it take to remove just one of your biggest daily headaches?
